About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity 15B20126Q00000005 concerning the replacement of tunnel doors at USP Allenwood. The document clarifies six key specifications and requirements for the door replacement project. The contractor must exclude windows from the exterior door frame design and is responsible for cutting the concrete floor and installing new holes for each door pin. Where feasible, doors should be increased by at least 4 inches in height by reducing header size. The Bureau of Prisons (BOP) will handle removal and reinstallation of all electrical devices and conduits associated with the door frames, eliminating that responsibility from the contractor scope.
Finish requirements specify that doors and frames must be powder coated to match the existing paint color rather than painted. The exact color specification will be provided to the awarded contractor via a physical sample for matching purposes. These clarifications establish the technical parameters and BOP's role in the project, ensuring contractor proposals align with the agency's specific preferences for the tunnel door replacement work.
