About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document clarifying facility requirements for a secured vehicle storage contract.
The Government requires a minimum of 13,000 square feet of indoor parking space, with a maximum of 13,100 square feet. Indoor parking is the primary requirement; outdoor fenced parking is available per local code, but the contractor may determine the allocation between indoor and outdoor storage. The facility must accommodate 15 storage spaces for various vehicle types including sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, and larger vehicles comparable to ambulances. A minimum two-vehicle bay is required; further specifications regarding enclosure are detailed in the Statement of Work. The facility must have an 8-foot-high minimum fence with a sliding gate featuring remote-controlled 24/7 access. The Government requires unrestricted 24/7 access to the facility without advance notice. The contractor is responsible for grounds maintenance and ensuring continuous facility access during contract performance. The Government may conduct a site inspection but does not guarantee one. While contractors may make improvements to meet contract requirements, the facility must satisfy all solicitation requirements. If a contractor leases the facility from a third party rather than owning it, the contractor assumes all risk for contract performance issues, potential limitations, and conflicts between Government requirements and the third-party lessor's restrictions; the Government will not manage or mediate contractor-subcontractor relationships.
