About this file

This document is a comprehensive set of bridge construction plans prepared by CHA Consulting, Inc. for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and Hamilton County for the new Bridge No. 335, which carries 146th Street over Hazel Dell Parkway in Clay and Noblesville Townships. The project involves construction of a continuous composite prestressed concrete bulb-tee beam bridge with three spans (103 feet, 85 feet, and 103 feet) totaling approximately 292.5 feet. The bridge features two 32-foot clear roadways with 6-foot shoulders, a 4-foot median, and modified PF-1 type bridge railing. The structure will be supported by two interior piers (Piers 2 and 3) and two end bents (Bents 1 and 4) founded on 14-inch steel pipe piles with conical tips. The project file includes detailed specifications for nine prestressed concrete beams, reinforced concrete deck slabs, elastomeric bearing assemblies, and related appurtenances, along with complete construction details, reinforcement schedules, and material quantities across 37 sheets of technical drawings dated 07/22/2026.

The bridge design accommodates HL-93 live loading per AASHTO LRFD specifications with a design speed of 45 miles per hour for the main intersection and 20-45 miles per hour for ramps. Concrete specifications include Class A (3,500 psi), Class B (3,000 psi), and Class C (4,000 psi) materials. All reinforcing steel shall be galvanized, including approximately 156,730 pounds in the superstructure and additional quantities in substructure elements. The project includes utility coordination with multiple agencies including Duke Energy, CenterPoint Energy, Comcast, Charter Communications, Zayo Group, MCI Verizon, Bluebird Fiber, the City of Carmel, and the Town of Noblesville regarding water, sewer, gas, electric, and communications line relocations. Earthwork quantities total approximately 1,200 cubic yards of excavation and 1,050 cubic yards of borrow material, with surface seal specifications for exposed concrete surfaces. The contract documents reference coordination with a parallel KIN Project roadway construction and indicate sequenced concrete deck pours to manage dead load deflection effects.
