About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) attachment for Solicitation 140R4025Q0046, related to a Grizzly Gravel Separator procurement by the Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation. The Q&A addresses technical specifications concerning the height of the rock screen/grizzly, specifically focusing on the use of a potential spacer box to meet a 10-foot height requirement.

The key points from the Q&A include clarification that a spacer box is only necessary if the grizzly height falls short of 10 feet, and that a 50-inch spacer box would result in an unacceptable total height of over 14 feet, which would prevent loader articulation. The government's responses consistently emphasize that the primary goal is to maintain the rock screen/grizzly at a 10-foot height without creating additional height challenges that could impede equipment functionality.

140R4025Q0046 – MRG SFD Grizzly Gravel Separator Attachment 5

Amendment 0003 - Questions and Answers

1. A spacer box is an additional bolt on lift kit that goes on the bottom of the rock grizzly to raise it and eliminate rocks being dropped from too high and damaging the rock grizzly. If we build a 50" tall spacer box/ bolt on lift kit it will put the overall height over 14' tall. Please clarify how you want to accomplish keeping the grizzly at 10' tall?

Government Response - A spacer box is not required when the grizzly height meets the 10-foot requirement. It is only necessary if the grizzly’s height falls short of 10 feet.

2. The Rock Screen is already 10’ tall if you put a spacer box under it, it will be taller so according to the attached document a spacer box is not needed?

Government Response - A spacer box is not required when the grizzly height meets the 10-foot requirement. It is only necessary if the grizzly’s height falls short of 10 feet.

3. The height for the spacer box is very high. A 50” spacer box will make the rock screen just over 14 feet high. Can the loader articulate over this height?

Government Response – No.
