Solicitation No. 140R4021Q0041 Tyzack Pumping Plant Switchgear Replacement Amendment 0003 Questions and Answers Continued from Amendment 0002 Questions and Answers

36. What is the available fault current at the main bus? The fault current on the 138kv bus is 4,820 amps and 2.4kV bus is 19,400 amps.

37. Section 2.05 states that the cable shall be NEC approved and UL Listed. Are these the only requirements we are being held to? There was no mention of insulation jacket, shields, etc. Additional specifications have now been added to this section.

38. Are cable trays acceptable for connections between new equipment and existing enclosures? For example, drive control from PLC. Exposed wires are not acceptable. Raceways are acceptable.

39. Please confirm if the vertical bus transition that connects to the Main Circuit Breaker is cable or hard bus. The existing vertical bus transition is cable.

40. Is a harmonic filter analysis and design required? A harmonic filter analysis and design will be required if the contractor’s selected equipment does not meet the required harmonic distortion values in IEEE 519 (See Subpart 301.3.02.D).

41. Is a complete replacement, the tap box above the switchgear and vertical bus, or just the bus? The contract requires new bus bars and cable to support switchgear and connections to existing motors. If possible, the box may be salvaged or reconfigured.

42. Regarding question #6 in Subpart 301 – 2.02 Pumping Plant Switchgear from Am.

0002, MV Motor Controls/Starters are classified as Metal Enclosed, not Metal Clad.

The main breaker can be Metal Clad design, but Metal Clad design requires separate compartments which requires rear access. Metal Clad Switchgear falls under C37.20.2 design standard. Please confirm if Metal Enclosed or Metal Clad.

This brings up several good points. The main breaker is to be metal clad. The motor controls and starters (VFDs and RVSS) can be metal enclosed.

43. Existing Motor Information - Please verify type and number of RTDs and provide nameplate information. Please see photos of motor nameplates at the end of this document.

44. Can transformer nameplate data be provided for the transformers in the WAPA switchgear yard? Please see photo at the end of this document for nameplate KY1A.
