About this file

This document contains a series of questions and responses regarding Pressure Relief Valves (PRVs), providing technical specifications and clarifications. The responses confirm that all PRVs have air as the service fluid, are designed to relieve gas, will discharge to atmosphere, and will use NPT end connections. The document includes specific details about the PRVs, such as their set pressures being listed in Table 1 (Appendix 10), and confirms that the set pressures are measured in psi for each individual PRV. The responses systematically address six key technical questions about the PRVs' characteristics and operational parameters, providing precise technical confirmations for each inquiry.

Text version

Question 01: Service medium (per PRV):

Please confirm the process fluid for each PRV (e.g., instrument air, nitrogen, steam, water, etc.).

Response 01: The service fluid for every PRV listed is air.

Question 02: Phase:

Confirm whether each PRV is relieving gas/vapor or liquid.

Response 02: Each PRV is intended to relieve gas.

Question 03: Discharge routing:

Are the PRVs discharging to atmosphere or to a common discharge header?

Response 03: The PRVs discharge to atmosphere.

Question 04: Back pressure (if headered):

If connected to a header, please provide the maximum built-up/superimposed back pressure or allowable back-pressure limits at each PRV outlet.

Response 04: Not Applicable

Question 05: End connections:

Confirm required end connection per PRV — NPT or flanged (and flange rating/face if flanged).

Response 05: PRV will use NPT end connections.

Question 06:Set pressure column in Table 1:

We understand the “Pressure (psi)” listed is the required set pressure per table 1 (Appendix 10).

Please confirm this understanding.

Response 06: Correct, the pressure listed in Table 1 refers to the required set pressure measured in psi for each PRV.
