Question 1 - Page 5 – C(a). Would we need to provide the New Carbon Brush holders equipped with “Dust Suction Shoes”? If so do you have more information on this.
Answer 1 - Yes, contractor will provide the new carbon brush holder equipped with dust suction. The dimensions of the carbon brush and holders are located in page 7 of the statement of work (SOW).
Question 2 - We have researched “Helwig” Mentioned on Page 7 but have not been able to get much information on the Dust Suction Shoes. Can you assist.
Answer 2 - The dust suction shoes are carbon brush holders designed collect the carbon debris or dust produced the generators' excitation system.
Question 3 - Also how much Airflow volume is required at each of the 20 x per system at the suction shoe?
Answer 3 - We do not have an airflow volume requirement. In the SOW Section 2.01(B)(b), the system is required to have a 90% collection rate of the carbon dust/debris produced from the carbon brushes during generator operation.
Question 4 - Do all 20 (Dust Suction Shoes) on each system operate at the same time?
Answer 4 - Yes, when a system is in operation, all 20 dust suction shoes are to operate.
Question 5 - Can you provide more information on what is required for “SCADA”. We are not familiar with this and want to make sure it is something we can provide prior to job walk.
Answer 5 - The designed system is to be capable of being monitoring and controlled (start/stop) via low voltage contacts.
Question 6 - Last – would it be possible to know how many bidders you have for this project and what other equipment brands are being offered.
Answer 6 – I cannot disclose that information at this time.
Question 7 - For the purpose of the Supervisor role for the installation, would this be considered a prevailing wage rate project.
Answer 7 – Yes, the wage rates are attached.
