15. (Photo 14): Precast tee roof beam joints and behind the 29ga Sheet Metal Covers.
There are 146 Locations with a 29 ga Sheet Metal Covers. Cleaning behind the additional 8 locations at expansion joints will only occur where failed anchors are replaced per specification Section 05 50 00 – Metal Fabrications. Removal and re-installation of the covers per specification Section 05 50 00 – Metal Fabrications. After removal of covers vacuum up loose debris between where the concrete T-beams meet. Any damage found to the concrete T-beams shall be documented with photos to show the extent of the existing damage (if any).
Those photographs shall be numbered to indicate which plate (south to north starting with 1) and distance in linear feet from the west wall. These photos shall be turned over to the Government for use in future monitoring of the condition
02 41 07 - 11 discovered. Before re-installation of covers also clean, contain, and dispose of any debris behind cover. Covers are located where each T-beam joins to another as seen on informational drawings 1222-D-1126 and 1222-D-1127. Accessibility to the covers is outlined in article 1.04 B of this specification.

17. Once surfaces are cleaned with the soap and water solution, rinse clear with clean water.
B. Accessibility:
1. The parapet ledge, drain lines, air handling units, precast tee roof beam sheet metal covers, and high bay lights are accessible using the two scissor lifts mounted upon bridge crane 1 or the scissor lift mounted upon crane 4, (see Photo 16). However, the NE, NW, and SE corners are only accessible with the use of a 125-foot boom lift. The SW corner and areas adjacent to the observation deck are accessible via the observation deck. The 125-foot boom lift must be equipped with exhaust scrubbers (MSHA compliant) to be used in the powerhouse.
a. Previous contractors have hoisted an electric scissor lift onto the Eagles nest (exterior viewpoint on west face of the powerplant) for use to access the parapet wall ledges in that portion of the powerplant.
