July 3, 2024 Site Visit Notes (all attendees)
Attendees met in the lobby of the Museum Building at 9:00 AM. The group observed the murals.
The group moved to the Veranda and observed the tile murals on the wall and in the stairwells and the area at the top of the east stairs where tile has apparently separated from the wall.
Questions and Answers:
Q. Are there any known areas in the lobby of canvas separating from the plaster wall?
A. No. The scope of work does not include reattachment of canvas if found; the scope only includes identifying if any areas of separating canvas are found during examination.
Q. Does the scope include any work in the interior lobby stair wells?
A. No; all lobby work is within the lobby proper.
Q. Does the scope include the low wall on the north side of the veranda stairwells (which is white tile only with no mural/graphics)?
A. No; the half height wall is not included in the scope. Only the tile areas with murals/graphics are included in the scope, including the south wall from the second level to the first level and the wall above the lower landing of the stairs. See the Second Floor plan drawing in the Scope of Work package.
Q. Will we need to provide floor coverings as this project requires a scissor lift?
A. Scissor lifts must have rubber/soft non-scratching wheels; floor protection is thus not required.
Q. Do we still need a note about Covid-19 precautions in this policy?
No, Requirement doesn’t require any COVID precautions or measures.
