About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity 140P8326Q0041 regarding the replacement of a Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) at the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument (JODA) Maintenance Shop.

The Government has amended the Statement of Work to require installation of a currently manufacturer-supported, UL-listed addressable or hybrid-addressable fire alarm control panel. For monitoring communications, the Government will provide and activate two analog telephone/POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) lines using existing copper telephone infrastructure. The Contractor must supply all required listed communicators, dialer modules, RJ31X jacks or equivalent line-seizure connections, surge protection, cabling, terminations, programming, coordination, testing, and monitoring-provider signal verification to connect the system to the Government-provided telephone lines. The Government assumes responsibility for line activation, provisioning, and recurring telephone service charges. The Contractor shall coordinate with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR), the Government-designated telephone/service provider, and the Government-designated central station monitoring provider. If the analog telephone/POTS lines become unavailable or non-functional, alternate communication methods may be utilized only with prior Government approval. The document also includes interior photographs of the existing panel and architectural/mechanical drawings (floor plan, electrical plans for lighting and power/signal, and plumbing plan) to assist quoters in determining specifications and pricing.
