About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation 140P8325Q0012 regarding a cultural resources survey at Big Hole National Battlefield (BIHO). The document addresses four vendor questions covering payment terms, proposal requirements, and operational considerations. Monthly invoicing is permitted for completed and approved work. Vendors must provide name, contact information, and project descriptions for past performance. Due to site sensitivity, camping is not allowed at BIHO, though May Creek Forest Service campground is available 8 miles away with amenities including bathrooms, bear boxes, and seasonal running water. The National Park Service has indicated openness to proposals that include non-destructive geophysical surveys to help target archaeological testing locations, requesting pricing for both standard and geophysical survey options.

140P8325Q0012 BIHO Survey
1. Could we submit invoices on a monthly basis?
Response:
Yes, for work completed and approved by the park.
2. Do we provide name, contact information, and project description for the past performance section of the proposal?
Response:
Yes.
3. Are there any regulations on camping for this fieldwork?
Response:
Due to the sensitive nature of the site, camping is not allowed at Big Hole National Battlefield and no camping accommodations exist at the park.
May Creek is a Forest Service campground about 8 miles away from BIHO. It has bathrooms, bear boxes, and seasonally has running water.
4. We feel that employing geophysical surveys could help target testing and ultimately decrease the amount of ground disturbance needed, and perhaps that overall time of fieldwork. Is the NPS amenable to us including geophysical work in our proposal?
Response:
Yes, NPS is amenable to proposals that include non-destructive geophysical surveys to better select locations for archaeological testing.
Please provide pricing for both options.
