Amendment 0001 140P8324Q0069 Supply and Delivery of Culvert Pipe Attachment 2: Question(s) and Answer(s) Olympic National Park
Question and Answer for Solicitation 140P8324Q0069
Q1: When attempting to source the various sizes of pipe required, we ran into an issue regarding the 48” pipe… this large of a diameter pipe does not get manufactured in 30’ lengths or with plain ends… we can provide 20’ lengths with bell and spigot WT and can include 48” couplers if this would suffice as an alternative? If acceptable we would just adjust the LF on the 48” 20’ sticks to get to your overall requested length in 30’ sticks."
Due to several responses for 30' sections, we believe they are out there. However, if the vendor can couple 2-20' sections, and cut bell ends off to make them plain ended 30' sections, and they can deliver completed 30' sections of 48" plain-ended pipe, that will work for us. We do not want to have the crew cutting and coupling pipe during installation.
Q2: Will NPS accept ASTM-F2648 spec’d pipe?
Yes, ASTM-F2648 is listed in the applicable standards as acceptable in the SOW.
Q3: The call for bids states supply and delivery of culvert pipe of 30' lengths "including off-loading to the ground" on a day to day basis we off load pipe by cutting the metal banding and rolling the pipe off of our trailer onto the ground into a neat pile, my question is, would that be acceptable practice to unload your pipe if we are awarded the bid?
Vendors are allowed to leave metal bands intact and push culvert stacks off of the trailer onto the ground. Or supply their own forklift for removal.
