Contractor Questions and Answers
1. Can we get clarification about what "3. Wire must be either coated wire or double twisted for added visibility" means? All barbed wire is double-twisted already standard.
a. The standard double twisted barbed wire is sufficient.
2. Do they want wood braces or sched 40 pipe braces?
a. There are no additional braces needed. The project is to add 3 barbed wires to the existing fence line and braces and the addition of buck and rail.
3. For the buck and rail section are barkies acceptable or do they want peeled and treated poles/jacks
a. Barkies are great. No peel or treat.
4. Can we use Simpson timber screws to attach the rails? They're superior to lags or all-thread.
a. Yes
5. Are we to remove existing braces that are functional? or just add additional braces at intervals?
a. No need to add or remove existing braces that are functional in the wire sections.
6. What is the wood-to-steel line post ratio? Or all line posts to be steel posts?
a. All posts are steel T posts. If the need were to arise to replace any that would have to be revisited during construction. Limited ground disturbance.
