140P8124B0001 Amendment 0001
The purpose of this amendment is to answer contractor questions and provide the bid opening meeting information.
A. Contractor questions and answers are provided as follows:
Question 1: Is there construction water is available from the park?
Answer 1: No. Contractor will need to haul in their own water, or purchase water.
Question 2: Will the Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive, (the main road leading up to the project site) be closed during the project?
Answer 2: No, except during the timeline when the paving portion of work is being performed, and then it would be closed for no more than 2-3 days when paving is being done.
Question 3: Would the Wheeler Peak Summit Parking Lot be available for a staging area?
Answer 3: No. The park intends to have the parking lot open for park visitor use. The contractor will need to use the upper Bristlecone Parking area for staging. Bristlecone Parking area has been identified as the primary staging area in the specs.
Question 4: Can contractors store their heavy equipment inside of the closed Wheeler Peak Campground?
Answer 4: No. The contractor can store their heavy equipment alongside the Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive road shoulder in close proximity to the project site, that leads down into the Bristlecone Parking Area.
