Amendment No. 01

Questions & Answers for KL Pump and Motor Replacement

Q1. I see from the SOW the required gpm is 348, but I didn’t see a mention of TDH. Can you supply the TDH?

A1. See question 5.

Q2. What size crane will best access the site?

A2. Crane will be sized appropriately for the equipment being installed.

Q3. Is the equipment to be factory (flow) tested first?

A3. New equipment must be installed per manufacture specs. There is no requirement from the Park but new pumps must perform exactly the same as the old pumps being replaced.

Q4. Are there basins below the pumps?

A4. No basins below pumps.

Q5. The existing pumps are rated at 850 GPM @ 100’ TDH with a 30 HP motor. Per the new scope the new conditions are to be 348 GPM @ 30 PSI (69.9’ TDH) with a 10 HP motor.

Please confirm the new conditions that will be required.

A5. From the scope:

1. Specs on existing pumps and motors:

Motors- US Electrical Motors(Emerson), 30 HP, 3ph, 230/460v, 180-1800rpm, 60hz Pumps- Peerless 040 FYM, 8x8x12, see pics.

New pumps must match old pumps performance. These pumps are “feed pumps” for a membrane water treatment system. They must match the oem equipment as that is what was engineered to work originally with this system.

Q6. Subpart 1.1, section B, item 10 of the SOW states “work includes associated mechanical joints needed, parts, fittings, thrust blocking, delineation, flagging, traffic control, trenching, grading, backfill and labor to provide a functioning water plant feed pumping system that satisfies the needs of the NPS unit as determined by NPS personnel.” Please confirm if these will be required.

A6. This is a catch all statement used in many different scopes. The only items needed are those which are pertinent to this project. Example: There is no trenching needed to install these new pumps but there may be parts, fittings or mechanical joints needed.
