About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for Solicitation #140P6426Q0099, Amendment #0001, concerning Trail Materials for CHIC.
The document addresses three primary material specification inquiries. First, regarding limestone material, the Government clarified that 1.5 inch limestone must be crushed rock rather than clean rock, with specifications updated accordingly. Second, in response to supply chain concerns regarding tan or rose granite availability in Oklahoma, the Government maintained that granite must be tan, rose, or pink in color with only small amounts of gray, black, or white permitted; the general color requirement for tan/rose/pink is firm and non-negotiable. Third, for 1.5" limestone options, the Government specified that 1.5" Crusher Run—defined as up to 1.5" with smaller pieces and powdery fines—is the acceptable product, with specifications updated to reflect this requirement. The responses indicate that the original solicitation specifications have been revised to provide clarity on material composition and acceptable grades.

QUESTIONS:
Question # Question Answer/Response
1. For the limestone it says1.5 inch limestone, is that crushed or clean rock?
We are looking for crushed rock.
Specifications have been updated.
2. In the course of gathering supplier quotes, we've learned that the only quarry in Oklahoma that produced tan or rose granite has been acquired by another company that is not currently working that quarry or supplying granite from it. Every other granite quarry we've contacted in the state has confirmed they cannot guarantee tan or rose material — their available granite is primarily black or white.
Given this, sourcing a tan or rose product would likely mean bringing material in from out of state, which would increase both the per-ton price and the delivery cost significantly compared to an in-state source?
1. How strictly will the tan or rose color requirement be enforced — is there any flexibility to accept black or white granite as a technically acceptable substitute?
2. If the color requirement is firm, is the Government aware that in-state supply may no longer be available, and would that be factored into the price reasonableness evaluation?
Must be tan/rose/pink may have small amount of gray, black or white. The general color must be tan/rose/ pink.
3. Which of the following 1.5" limestone options would be acceptable?
• 1.5" Crusher Run – up to 1.5" with smaller pieces and powdery fines.
• 1.5" Clean – up to 1.5" with smaller pieces, no fines.
• 1.5" Coarse – consistently 1.5" in size, no fines.
We are looking for 1.5" Crusher Run – up to 1.5" with smaller pieces and powdery fines.
Specifications have been updated.
