About this file

This document is a Questions & Answers addendum (Amendment #2) for Solicitation 140P6425Q00037 for Livestock Removal at Big Bend National Park. The document addresses three key questions from potential contractors regarding the project's logistics and support. The designated capture areas will be accessible to trucks and trailers, with maps to be provided upon contract award. A National Park Service agent will accompany the contractor during roundup services, with at least one week's notice required to arrange law enforcement support for protection against potential conflicts with cattle owners or other illegal activities along the Rio Grande. The park will also provide approved areas for contractors to stage equipment, including trailers, cattle feed, and temporary enclosure materials.

Questions & Answers 2

Solicitation 140P6425Q00037

Amendment #2

Livestock Removal

Big Bend National Park

1. Will the designated capture areas have access to trailers and/or semi's?

Yes, the designated capture areas will be accessible to trucks and trailers. Maps of the areas will be provided when the contract is awarded.

2. With one of the National Park Service agents riding with the contractor will they supply support and protection from cattle owners, livestock owners, and other illegal activities happening on the Rio Grande?

Yes, this is one of the reasons the park requires at least 1 week notice before the contractor can conduct roundup services. This timeline ensures the park has sufficient time to arrange law enforcement support during the activities.

3. Will the contractor be able to store anything at the Park such as trailers, cattle feed, temporary enclosure materials, etc.?

Yes, they would be able to use approved areas for staging of equipment. Those areas will be provided when the contract is awarded.
