Paint and Replace Carpet – PEVI

QUESTIONS:

1. Could you share the approximate dimensions of the Atrium for Perry's Victory International Peace Memorial?

Dimensions of Atrium are approximately 22 feet by 73 feet.

2. Are there any plans available? The document titled “Plans” has been attached with the Amendment, which provides plans for the Visitor Center.

3. Is the Wood floor base to be painted? No.

4. Will the park be moving wall hung pictures and displays and also floor displays (that are not permanently fixed) this includes servers in closet in theater, office furniture etc in office behind check out booth - clothing racks in book store etc?

No permanent fixtures will be moved. Walls and partitions with murals must be protected. The walls in the gallery that are covered in vinal ‘wall paper’ are not included.

The park will secure paintings, office furniture, clear the bookstore and secure framed art from VC walls. The contractor must cover and protect statues, murals, vinal wall coverings and permanent display cases and servers. SERVERS WILL

NOT BE MOVED.

5. What is the weight capacity of the floor in the main area (with the high ceiling) is it able to support scissor lifts?

Scaffolding envisioned for this project. Scissor lifts are not permitted. Small one-man electric hydraulic lifts are permitted.

6. What wage rates do carpet installers fall under - We don't see flooring or carpet in the wage rates provided?

The Wage Rate for “LABORER:

Common or General” should be used.

7. Is the contractor able to use restrooms inside the facility or should portable units be used for the project?

The work is to be done while the Visitor Center is closed to visitors.

The contractor may use the restroom but is responsible for cleaning.

8. How many different colors should we plan for - ceilings one color walls another any accent walls - trim different than walls and doors? Please see the chart in the spec.

The walls are all one color to match existing to be chosen by COR. There are several different finishes (matte, gloss, ect.) within the single color.

This is all included on the chart in the Statement of Work.

9. We believe the visitor center normally closes to the public in October and open back up in the spring - should it be assumed for bidding purposes that the building would be closed to be public during this work - or will it be open to the public during work?

The building is closed to the public from mid-October to mid-May. The contractor may have full access until mid-April when we begin to prepare to open for the season.

10. Lift allowed? See above

11. Who will be responsible for moving the items into closets for painting and is there a storage plan in place for the removed contents?

No storage plan. See above.

12. Please specify what you would like done with the flooring base.

The existing flooring base needs to be properly disposed as indicated in the Statement of Work.

13. For the Theater Room, what would be moving and what would be required to be protected

All art and furniture will be removed from the Theater Room. Servers will remain. Contractor to protect carpet.

14. For the Theater Room, who will be responsible for moving pictures, displays, etc.?

NPS will move Theatre room pictures and displays.

15. For the Theater Room, the acoustical ceiling in the center of the room is not to be included, correct?

Correct, acoustical tile not in contract.

16. For the Theater Room, is Paint & Flooring in electrical rooms included?

Carpet only included in contract.

17. For the Main hallway, is the statue moving for flooring replacement?

Perry statue sits on concrete pedestal integral to structure. It will not be moved. Must be covered and protected by contractor.

18. For the Main hallway, what would be moving and what would be required to be protected.

See above.

19. For the Main hallway, who will be responsible for moving pictures, displays, etc?

See above.

20. For the Bathrooms, are just ceilings included? All non-tile-covered wall surfaces included.

21. It states bids are due Wednesday August 8th 2022, just to confirm, I am assuming it was a type-o and is due Monday August 8th 2022?

Bids are due Monday August 8th, 2022.
