Boardwalk Replacement – INDU Questions and Answers #2 listed below:

QUESTIONS:

Question

Question Answer/Response

1.

I am writing to request clarification on Plan Sheet C04, Note 1 it states that “No tracking or storage within the wetlands will be allowed.”

For bidding purposes, is the contractor to interpret this as materials must be hand carried into the site? For example, would a skid steer or similar equipment, not be permitted to transport new or demoed boardwalk materials in and out of the proposed boardwalk site and within the construction limits?

Only vehicles which are 4.5' wide will be allowed. It is imperative to emphasize that due to the high volume of protective species in this area, the contractors need to be extremely cautious to stay within the delineated limit of construction.

The existing and proposed materials are made out of plastic which is very light that two persons can lift and put in a small cart and pushover. Only a small section of the existing boardwalk is made out of wood and will be replaced with a plastic boardwalk.

Another suggestion could be to start the project from the end and do demolition and installation simultaneously.

Could you confirm the bid date time to be 12:00 PM EST or 1:00 PM EDT? The amendment states 12:00 PM EDT but it says 1:00 PM EDT on the website.

I know the amendment is what we are supposed to go by, but I’m just looking for confirmation

It is 12PM ET – not sure why the site states otherwise.

There were issues with this getting posted to beta.SAM and maybe this didn’t transfer over correctly.
