About this file

This document is an Addendum (No. 5) for the NPS Restroom Remodel and Door Hinge project by The Schemmer Associates, dated August 19, 2025. The addendum modifies two key drawing sheets: A101 (Partition Framing and Ceiling Details) and E101 (Luminaire coordination with toilet partitions). NPS has additionally requested the inclusion of drawing sheets from previous Addendums 2-4. The architectural modifications involve partition framing adjustments, while the electrical changes focus on coordinating lighting placement with toilet partition layouts. The project is located at Jewel Cave National Monument in Custer, South Dakota, and involves comprehensive restroom renovations including electrical, architectural, and accessibility improvements.

The project documents include detailed floor plans, lighting and power system layouts, interior finish schedules, and accessibility considerations. Specific design elements include ADA-compliant restroom features, such as accessible water closets, urinal screens, grab bar backing, push-button door openers, and a family/changing station restroom. The electrical plans indicate connecting new lighting to existing circuits, relocating fixtures, and maintaining existing electrical infrastructure where possible. The architectural drawings show a complex restroom layout with separate men's, women's, family, and utility spaces, incorporating epoxy flooring, gypsum wall boards, and comprehensive accessibility design.
