Minuteman Missile Delta-01 HVAC Replacement

Additional Questions & Answers Amendment 0003

1. Can the contractor use electricity from the project site at no additional cost to the contractor for the temporary heating?

Government Answer: Yes.

2. What is the square footage of the building needed to be provided with temporary heat?

Government Answer: 6,230 square feet.

3. At the walkthrough, there was a unit heater where everything was exposed (historical). Can we modify that existing conduit to tie it to the existing unit heater and fan coil unit, or are we not able to tie into this due to it being historical? Please confirm we can modify the existing conduits throughout the building.

Government Answer: For any exposed conduit, you may modify the existing metal conduit to tie into the unit heaters. Any modified conduit will need to match the existing conduit in appearance/paint.

4. The existing chiller feeder breaker is 150 amps. Is it ok to fuse it down to 70 amps at the disconnect next to the unit? It is currently installed with 80 amp fuses. The wire back to the panel is sized for 150 amps. It may not be possible to get a breaker to replace the 150 amp breaker anyway.

Government Answer: Contractor shall follow the manufacturer guidelines for correct amperage on the circuit breaker and disconnect that is recommended for the new chiller.

5. What is the outdoor antenna on the AHU used for? During the site visit it was noted that this was active. What are we to do with this antenna?

Government Answer: That antenna should be demo’d and removed if it is not applicable for the new system being installed.

6. Please confirm the onsite staff will remove and replace all ACT ceiling grid needed during the project, as discussed during the site visit.

Government Answer: Yes, government personnel will remove the grid necessary for site access.
