About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a National Park Service contract to replace HVAC systems at Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site (Solicitation Number: 140P6025Q0034). The Q&A addresses multiple critical project details, including administrative and logistical requirements. Key points include: contractors will need to submit a contract-specific QA/QC Plan and Safety Plan, a superintendent can fulfill supervision, safety, and QAQC roles, and the project is tax exempt.

Specific project logistics involve preparing the work site, with the National Park Service removing materials from storage rooms 101 and 102 prior to contractor mobilization and stacking chairs in the Multipurpose Room 103 to create a staging area. Regarding bonding requirements, either a Payment Bond or Irrevocable Letter of Credit is due within 10 days after contract award. The NPS will handle capping off the existing fire suppression system and anticipates being able to temporarily shut down the fire protection system during construction, with sprinkler pipes potentially being temporarily removed and reinstalled.
