About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers file for a National Park Service contract for an audiovisual system installation at the Nicodemus National Historic Site AME Church. The project involves purchasing and installing a single media player (specifically a Brightsign media player), an interactive button panel with printed text labels, and a control system. The audio project will feature multiple audio experiences triggered by individual button selections, with no video components. The contractor is required to propose a control panel and will need to handle all system integration, as the church currently has no existing audio or video infrastructure. The solicitation (140P6025Q0029) is managed by the Department of the Interior National Park Service Midwest Region, focused on creating an interactive audio experience within the historic AME Church setting.

Contractor’s Questions – NPS Response
1. How many media players are required for the project?
1 media player
2. Are the media players exclusively Bright Sign? Do you have any other players?
In the AME Church, the location of this project, there are no current media players. This would be the first audio project in the Church.
3. Is the specified button panel part of a control system, or is it simply a panel for mounting push buttons?
The button panel is simply a panel for mounting push buttons. It will also need to have printed text labeling each button. Each button will start a different audio experience to be heard in the church.
4. Do you already have a control system, or should we propose one?
There is no control panel in the AME Church, contractor shall propose one.
5. When referring to multiple media players, is there an existing HDMI video switcher, or will one be needed?
There is no existing HDMI video switcher. This will be an audio experience, there will be no video.
6. Could you please share the CAD file of the floor plan? This will help us prepare the wiring diagram once the bill of materials is finalized.
Unfortunately, we do not have access to these files currently.
7. There is no mention of video equipment in section 1.2.B, however a Brightsign media player is specifically mentioned in section 4.2.B. Can you clarify if video equipment is being requested, and if needed please specify video player/screen requirements? I.e., Quality, configuration, format, performance, etc.
Video equipment is not being requested. This project will be an audio project only, involving an interactive panel with push buttons to activate the audio.
