About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity 140P5326Q0007, comprising Amendments 1 and 2, related to flooring renovation work at a Visitor's Center facility.
The project involves replacing flooring in a slab foundation building with no floor joists or plywood underlayment. Replacement flooring must consist of individual 2.25" engineered tongue and groove hardwood planks installed in a floating floor connective manner, matching the existing 3/8" composite hardwood in color, appearance, durability, and style. While comparable products are acceptable, color and appearance are prioritized over exact dimensional specifications. The existing 1/4 round trim must be maintained in kind without damage in all areas where currently present. Black and yellow hazard tape in hallways will not require replacement as the project eliminates the tripping hazards it marks. Artifacts and movable display cases will be removed by park staff prior to work commencement; the government will ensure no contractor contact with museum objects, though large display installations will remain in place. Site visits are available Tuesday, February 24 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, with a secondary opportunity Thursday, February 26 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM. Power and restroom facilities are available on-site for contractor use. No current floor plans with verified dimensions are available due to ongoing building renovations. The government has no hazmat survey results available; however, the building's construction period strongly indicates an absence of lead paint, and no lead testing is expected.
