About this file

This document is a set of Questions and Answers related to RFP #140P5124Q0015 for replacing the security fence and gate at the Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail. The RFP is seeking to install a new electric chain-operated sliding gate with remote and hard-wired opener, along with a new security fence. The fence will have four turns and stops. The agency does not provide a diagram but indicates there are no specific cultural or environmental considerations beyond removing vegetation and debris. The security requirements call for a Class II gate operator with backup battery, keypads, and four remotes. Bollards are required if a keypad is installed. There are no concerns with visitor safety or the need for temporary security during installation. The new fence and gate system must provide secure access control to the Lowndes Interpretive Center Maintenance Shop.
