About this file
This is Amendment 0002 to a federal solicitation for HVAC replacement services at Colonial National Historical Park's Jamestown Historic Research Center facility.
The amendment corrects a technical posting issue with Amendment 0001 and provides an amended Project Manual that revises air handler requirements from 4-ton units to 5-ton units. The contract scope includes replacement of two existing split HVAC systems with new 5-ton heat pumps and compatible multi-position air handlers, each with 10kW heating elements. Work includes connecting new equipment to an existing control system, integrating with existing ductwork (with modifications as needed), mounting heat pumps to existing pedestals, flushing and reusing existing line sets if appropriately sized, performing proper refrigerant charging, ensuring equipment breakers and disconnects meet manufacturer specifications, and conducting industry-standard installation procedures including nitrogen pressure tests and vacuum line set procedures to sub-500-micron levels. All equipment must be from a single manufacturer and fully compatible. The contract requires proper disposal of removed equipment and recovery of refrigerants per applicable regulations. The project location is 1365 Colonial National Historical Parkway, Williamsburg, Virginia 23185. The performance period runs from July 1, 2026 through December 30, 2026, with work conducted between 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM. Contractor must provide liability insurance, warranty information, equipment specifications, and equipment manuals. A minimum 1-year warranty against defects and 1-year warranty for workmanship are required. The contracting officer is Jason Albright at Boston National Historical Park (NPS, NER). A pre-bid site visit was conducted on May 28, 2026, with attendees listed in the amendment documentation.
