About this file

This document contains questions and answers related to a solicitation for rehabilitating windows, sills, and trim at the First Bank of the United States. The National Park Service is seeking to rehabilitate windows, sills, and trim, including removing existing paint from frames and sash. Work will include modifying specific windows for removal of HVAC equipment. Scaffolding and fencing may be required for exterior work. Interior photos were provided in a virtual prebid document. Bidders should assume windows contain asbestos and reference the December 2019 hazardous materials report. The National Park Service will remove most furniture in late October but contractors may need to relocate some items. A room on each floor will be provided for work areas and staging. Intermittent ramp closures are allowed with 7 days notice for windows near the ramp. Bids are due within 20 days of the solicitation date and must include a bid guarantee of 20% of the bid price or $3 million, whichever is less.
