About this file
This is a Field Investigation document prepared by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service for Saguaro National Park. The investigation was conducted by Roger G. Atnes, PLS and NPS Regional Land Surveyor on April 16, 2025, in Township 13 South, Range 12 East of the Gila and Salt River Meridian in Arizona. The survey utilized a Trimble RZi RTK survey grade GNSS instrument with geographic positions represented in NAD 83(2011), Epoch 2010.00, referenced to the US Survey Foot and true meridian bearings.
The investigation's primary purpose was to determine the positions of existing survey monuments and boundary evidence for parcels located within the NPS tract boundaries. The document references land survey records from Anderson Engineering Corp., stamped and signed by Gene Anderson on April 24, 1980, and recorded in Pima County. Field investigation identified Points on Line (POL) along the boundary of NPS Tract No. 02-217 and located section corner monuments at the intersection of sections 26, 27, 34, and 35, marked with a 600-nail. Two survey monuments were recovered at the east 1/16 section corner position, including an iron pin marked "PE 2368" projecting 1 inch above ground and an iron pin marked "RLS 1684" projecting 2 inches above ground, bearing S. 59°W at a distance of 0.86 feet. The document notes that survey plot filing and upgrades to meet Arizona Land Survey requirements will be completed during acquisition, with results to be provided to the Land Resources Division.
