About this file

This document is a Requests for Information (RFI) for Solicitation 140P2125R0056, specifically addressing AV system upgrades at the Cesar E. Chavez National Monument for the Department of the Interior National Park Service. The RFI provides technical clarifications about specific AV system components, including confirmation that a 12-button remote will be wireless and independent of the control system, a floor-standing subwoofer (Yamaha NS-SW100 or equivalent) is desired, and audio amplification requirements are flexible based on room size.

Key technical details include speaker placement specifications, with the center speaker to be mounted below the screen, and no requirement for an acoustic surface. The audio system will be a 5.1 configuration, though the amplification approach is adaptable. The solicitation emphasizes that no government-provided equipment will be used for the installation, indicating a comprehensive system replacement or upgrade project.

Requests for Information (RFI) for Solicitation 140P2125R0056: CECH– AV System Upgrades

1. The SOW calls for a 12 button remote that is independent of the control system, is this expected to be wired directly to the Brightsign?

a. Answer: Yes, the wireless push buttons shall operate independently of the control system.

1. The audio specification mentions 5.1 but there is no mention of a subwoofer. Is a subwoofer desired? If so, what type of sub is desired?

Answer: Yes, a floor standing subwoofer. Yamaha NS-SW100 or equal (quantity 1)

1. On page 4 the SOW says no Government Provided equipment will be used for this installation. The audio specification mentions 5.1 but only calls for a 4-channel amplifier. Are 6 channels of amplification desired?

Answer: The room is small enough that an amplifier may not necessarily be needed, the proposed amplifier would be used to push the front and center speakers should it need to be amplified further.

1. Will the center channel be mounted below or behind the screen?

Answer: The center speaker shall be mounted below the screen.

1. If behind the screen should we provide an acoustic surface?

Answer: The speaker will be mounted below the screen and therefore an acoustic surface will not be necessary.
