JOFI Questions and Answers

1. What is the budget for this project?

A: Provide your quote based on the specifications in the Scope of work and its’ attachments.

2. Is this project under the Buy American Act? (Is this irrelevant if we are registered with SAM.org?)

A: The Buy American Act is not applicable to this acquisition; SAM registration is required to be eligible for all government contracts.

3. Are you accepting international bids?

A: As this is a Small business set aside, it only applies to businesses in the U.S., so no international bids will be accepted.

4. Will the audio files for Custom Element CE-01-02-400 be provided by the government?

A: Park has an existing recording which will be provided at project launch, but contractor must assess quality to see if it is acceptable for integration into the exhibit. May require audio file clean-up or contractor sourcing a better version of the historical recording.

5. The Solicitation states that the building recently underwent extensive renovations. Is there any construction and/or renovations pending prior to the beginning of the contract?

A: Building renovations are complete.

6. For Volume I - Technical Capability: Is the request for sample Fabrication Drawings for one sample of work, or all samples of work included in the submission?

A: Sample of fabrication drawings from one project is sufficient.

7. Are files being provided press-ready with all full resolution images placed and fonts provided?

A: Yes, print-ready graphics files will be provided at project launch.

8. Is any additional layout work required by the fabricator?

A: No

9. Are images being sourced and provided with all rights already acquired?

A: All image rights have been acquired.

10. Are there artifacts, photos or other ephemera that need to be scanned or otherwise digitized?

A: No.

JOFI Questions and Answers

11. Arrowhead logo is called out as HDU foam. Unicor no longer uses HDU foam. Sub HPL? Or does the logo have to be carved and fully painted?

A: Design intent is to have the NPS arrowhead be a 3D sculpted and painted arrowhead.

Contractor can propose alternate materials, but a flat print on HPL will not be acceptable.

12. There are 3 mural quote/caption items with N/A as the material definition. Are these to be printed as part of the mural?

A: The quotes are an integral part of the mural graphics print file. Print-ready files shall be provided.

13. Would audio description be part of this job? If so, would hardware elements of that system be part of our responsibility?

A: Yes, Audio Description is part of contractor responsibility. Contractor must provide three iBKS beacons (See page 21 in “Attachment A- JOFI Production Design 2” for location of beacons). Contractor must also provide three iPhones to host the NPS app, which only runs on iOS (Android devices are not acceptable). Audio Tour script writing is also a contractor responsibility.
