About this file
This is Amendment 0001 to RFI/Sources Sought Notice #140P2125Q0010 issued by the National Park Service (NPS) for Telematics services. The amendment extends the response due date from January 3, 2025 to January 10, 2025 at 1700 EST.
The amendment clarifies several aspects of the RFI, including that it is for market research purposes only and does not commit the government to any future procurement. Key points addressed include FedRAMP certification requirements, with NPS acknowledging industry feedback about certification challenges and timelines (12-18 months standard, or 6 months expedited with agency involvement). The amendment also clarifies that Section 5.1 responses should focus on high-level capabilities rather than detailed pricing or quantities. The document notes that NPS is exploring options beyond the single FedRAMP "READY" GSA offeror and states that no telephone communications will be entertained at this time. The contracting specialist is identified as Heather Madsen.

No Commitment: This notice does not commit the
Government to procure any supply or service, nor does it commit the Government to pay any costs incurred by respondents in providing information.
No Questions at This Time: At this stage, we are only seeking information. We are not answering questions or accepting unsolicited proposals.
Voluntary Participation: Participation in this
RFI is voluntary. Not responding will not preclude participation in any future solicitations, should they arise.
Submission Ownership: All information submitted will become Government property and will not be returned.
We appreciate offerors time and effort in responding to this RFI. Industry input will help the NPS better understand the market and inform future planning.
NPS thanks industry for its detailed feedback and clarifications regarding the RFI. Below, NPS provides further responses to address received comments:
1. FedRAMP Certification and Agency Involvement
We understand the challenges associated with achieving FedRAMP certification, including the costs and the need for agency participation. The
RFI was issued to gather market intelligence and explore whether there are additional vendors, beyond the single FedRAMP ¿READY¿ GSA offeror, who may be in the process of certification or considering it.
Industry input regarding the paths to FedRAMP certification is valuable, particularly the expedited path requiring agency involvement. NPS is open to understanding these options further.
While this RFI does not commit the Government to any specific course of action, industry comments will help inform any potential procurement strategy.
2. Future Competition and Intent to Award
An important question was raised about whether a future RFP would be limited to FedRAMP-certified providers or open to those willing to pursue

140P2125Q0010/0001 certification upon an intent to award. At this stage, the RFI is for market research purposes only.
Regarding the FedRAMP timeline, the Contracting
Specialist¿s understanding aligns with the general process of 12-18 months for certification. However, industry clarification about the expedited 6-month process with agency involvement is noted and will be considered in further discussions.
3. Section 5.1 and RFI Response Expectations
NPS acknowledge industry request for clarification on Section 5.1. As this is not a solicitation, the inclusion of specific procurement-sensitive information (e.g., quantities or quoting specifics) is not required at this stage.
The intent of the table in Section 5.1 is to gather general market capabilities rather than exact details on quantities or pricing. Vendors are encouraged to provide high-level responses addressing their ability to meet the requirements rather than detailed line-item responses.
NPS appreciates the time and effort industry has put into these clarifications and its response.
All feedback is invaluable as the NPS continues this market research effort.
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration.
The DOI/NPS is not entertaining telephonic communications at this time.
