About this file

This document is an amendment to a solicitation for the replacement of the Katherine Landing Water Supply System located in Lake Mead National Recreational Area in Boulder City, Nevada. The National Park Service is seeking to replace the existing pump barge and install a new UV reactor pipe assembly for the water treatment facility. Bidders must ensure uninterrupted water service for the park throughout the project by keeping the existing pump barge operational while installing the new components. The amendment answers an additional question clarifying that uninterrupted service refers to continuous operation of the entire water system, including the barge, water treatment plant, and storage tank.

LAKE 210462 – Katherine Landing Water System Solicitation: 140P2020R0003 – AMENDMENT SIX

1. Answers to questions received to date:

• Question 11: Under Factor 2, Subfactor 2A, it requires for us to describe our approach to ensure uninterrupted service. Does this mean we need to keep the existing pump barge operational while we attempt to replace it? Or is the term "uninterrupted service" refer to other aspects of the water treatment facility? A Shutdown period for the existing pump barge also affects our approach to installing the New UV Reactor Pipe Assembly.

Answer 11: The term means that the water system in its entirety shall not have its operations interrupted in order to ensure the Park operators can operate the system and/or supply treated water as is needed to meet demand.

The entirety of this system includes the barge, the water treatment plant, and the water storage tank.
