1a) On page 8 of the RFP, line item 7, it requests lump sum price for fiber installation. On the electrical sheets, it also makes mention of fiber to be installed. The specifications do not include a section for fiber optic cabling, and the drawings don’t indicate any relevant information, ex. type, strands, termination point, termination type, enclosures, etc. Please provide additional information on the extent of this scope.
1b) I am not finding any specifications on the communication fiber. Can we get clarification on the fiber to be installed?
1c) Please provide clarification on the type of connectors to be used with the fiber
Fiber to be installed is Loose Tube Single Jacket, SM0124M1A-DWB (See attached). Also use fabric innerduct:
2” Conduit: Maxwell MXE52224
3” Conduit: Maxwell MXE64283
4” Conduit: Maxwell MXE86383
See NOTES on page C31 for fiber info. Location for fiber termination is in control side of existing panel - see E8.2, Detail 2. In the Campground Project, the fiber will not be terminated, it will be pulled to location and secured in existing panel, tested for integrity, then terminated during a later project, “Wawona WWTP Improvement” project.
2) Sheet C9 is calling for a 2 1/2" flex conduit for the 480V power. Can you elaborate on the "flex" conduit you are asking for?
The conduit for 480V feeders should be 2 ½” EPC-40-PVC (Schedule 40 PVC).
3) Sheet C10 is calling 2" FM, 2" conduit for communications and a 4" flex conduit, also refers to Detail
A on sheet C9. This detail does not have 4" flex conduit inside of the HDD carrier pipe, it shows a 2
1/2" flex conduit. Please clarify the conduits in this carrier.
The conduit in 480V feeders should be 2 ½” EPC-40-PVC. The conduit for the 12kV feeder should be 4” EPC-40-PVC (Schedule 40 PVC).
4) Sheet E6.1 is asking for a 4"C with 3 - #2 and 1 - #2G to match existing 12K conductors. Are you asking for (4) separate #2 conductor medium voltage cables?
The medium voltage feeder is for a 3 phase, 3 wire system and should have all 4 wires: 3#2 + 1#2G in one 4” conduit.
The existing 12 kV feed coming from the step up transformer that is feeding the Water Treatment Plant, Lift Station 2, the Main Central Lift Station, Golf Course Pump House in addition to the campground uses 3#2 conductors. At 12kV these are rated for 150A.
5) Please clarify how many medium voltage conductors are needed and if each one needs to be in its own conduit.
The medium voltage feeder is for a 3 phase, 3 wire system and should have all 4 wires: 3#2 + 1#2G in one 4” conduit.
140P2019R0073, Amendment 0005
6) Please clarify the type of "flex" conduit you are requesting for use on this project.
We clarified with the civil engineer that the flexible conduit noted on civil drawing C-9 will be changed to EPC-40-PVC. We also reviewed the design at the campground and there is no vibrating equipment or light fixtures that will require flexible conduit. All transformers are integral to the switchgear that they are supplying so connections to them will not need flexible conduit.
Therefore, we do not anticipate using flexible conduit anywhere else on this project.
7) It is clear that small business offerors are not required to submit the Small Business Subcontracting
Plan (Volume II). Are small business offerors required to submit the Subcontracting Percentage
Worksheet issued with Amendment 0003 with our proposal submission?
a. No, small businesses are not required to complete the worksheet.
8) Since the Proposed Equals form is not required as part of the proposal submission per Amendment
0003, can you please clarify if the Hazardous Materials Form is required after award or with the proposal submission?
a. Hazardous Materials Form is required with the proposal but will not be evaluated. It will be finalized and accepted after award.
