Question No. Sheet or Reference Question Response Amendment Answered

1 C401

Based upon Specification for CIPP, we must have information for design parameter and calculations and eventual pricing - _______ normal operating pressure of 8” RW piping, ______surge pressure of 8” RW piping, _____ vacuum pressure of RW piping (if any), _____ max. depth of RW piping, ______number and size of service on RW piping, ______number of bends and type (22.5, 45, 90, tee, etc.).

Additional CIPP Parameters:

c. Vacuum Pressure – A surge analysis was not modeled and would be necessary to estimate a vacuum pressure, so we are unable to provide an answer at this time. (6) air/vacuum combination release valves to be installed at locations around isolation valves to be determined during construction. Air/Vacuum combination release valves are shown in detail B/C300.

v. Six (6) total 8" valves to be replaced. (3) of these valves are already shown on the contract documents so an additional (3) valves to be added by this amendment for this proposal and locations to be determined during construction.

The Maximum Operating pressure was stated as 100psi, what is the NORMAL Operating pressure?

100 psi is the highest normal operating pressure.

In addition... questions regarding Surge Pressure.

Addendum 5 states Surge Pressure at 275 psi, what events cause this spike in pressure? ( This may need to be confirmed, seems high) How often does this event happen- daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly?

For purposes of proposal preparation, please follow the specifications and test levels as indicated.

Section 01 57 23 SWPPP - Permanent Erosion Control if Park does not provide plants/seed and Contractor may not bring in from outside?

Waiver needed from State OR turnover permit to Park when contract completed.

Erosion Control Permit Language:

Add paragraph 3.2.A.6 – The Government shall be designated as an Operator for final stabilization activities.

Contractor to be the Operator during all construction activities through final grade restoration and mulching.

Is there any chance for the bid date to be extended?

Due to natural resource concerns, the NPS is unable to extend this solicitation any further. The proposal due date remains unchanged as July 20, 2018 at 2:00pm Mountain Time. As stated in Amendment 0003, offerors may submit a revised price schedule to the Contracting Officer at jason_longshore@nps.gov anytime before the proposal due date and time. Volume I and Volume II of the proposal package shall be sent via USB. If submitting a revised price schedule, offerors need only submit the Contract Price Schedule from Volume II.
