About this file
This document is an Amendment (Amendment #0001) to Solicitation #140P1525Q0072 for the National Park Service's Salinas Pueblo Missions (SUPA) flooring replacement project. The amendment includes a questions and answers section addressing a potential alternative flooring solution proposed by a vendor. The vendor suggested using epoxy flake flooring with moisture vapor barrier and epoxy cove base for the Mission 66 building, highlighting benefits such as color variants, lifetime warranty, and similar pricing to vinyl flooring. However, the National Park Service explicitly rejected this alternative, maintaining their requirement for commercial grade floating floor replacement.
The solicitation is for the Department of the Interior's National Park Service Contracting Operations - Central, located in Washington, DC. The project site is at the Salinas Pueblo Missions, located at 102 South Ripley in Mountainair, New Mexico. The amendment indicates no other solicitation clauses or dates have changed, and the contracting officer is Taylor Jones, who can be contacted at Taylor_A_Jones@nps.gov or 520-780-9294.

Replace Flooring – SUPA
Questions and Government Responses listed below:
QUESTIONS:
Question # Question Answer/Response
1. We are proposing we refloor Mission 66 building with epoxy flake flooring. Epoxy flooring allows for adhesion to any sublayer, and an epoxy-based moisture vapor barrier can be laid below the epoxy to eliminate moisture issues as well. This system also allows for us to apply epoxy cove base, where we apply the floor up the wall 4-6 inches allowing for full waterproofing. We have also over 200 color variants we can use to match building design. Our flooring installs come with lifetime warranty.
And pricing will be very similar to vinyl flooring.
Is this an acceptable option for floor replacement?
After careful consideration of this question, the park would not like to accept this as alternative to the commercial grade floating floor.
