Q2. The delivery is 365 days after award. There are some components on this larger build that are

10-12 months out after ordering. That could get better or worse next year. Trucks of this size are seeing 16-22 months lead times right now.

Will you be able to extend the delivery time frame to at least, to play it safe, 550 days?

A2. Delivery time can be extended to 550 days.

Q3. Your spec¿s state engine horsepower shall be

1200hp. Will you except a bid with a lower horsepower rating? Due to the fact you are only requesting a single engine design.

A3. Those specifications will be the requirement.

With being a single engine design we want the

1200HP and with the fuel load we are asking for the minimum GVWR shall be the 60,000 GVWR.

Q4. Your spec also calls for a minimum of 60,000

GVWR. Will you except a bid at 57,000 GVWR?Your spec also calls for a minimum of 60,000 GVWR.

Will you except a bid at 57,000 GVWR?

A4. Those specifications will be the requirement.

With being a single engine design we want the

1200HP and with the fuel load we are asking for the minimum GVWR shall be the 60,000 GVWR.

Q5. Item 1.a says 8,500 TPH. Item 14.a says 7,500

TPH. Which one is correct?

A5. 1. The 8,500 TPH is the correct specification.

Q6. Item 5.e.ix is asking for a diesel fired heater and a very specific camera system. If we understand this correctly, you would like a 7¿ monitor dedicated to watching the diesel fired heater? a. The camera, rain cover, monitor and cable all have specific part numbers. Is variation allowed?

A6. The camera portion was accidentally put with the engine heater. It should be a diesel fired coolant heater (i.e. Eberspacher) installed with

OEM controller. Wired Separately from Battery

Disconnect.

Camera section should have been in section 9.

Electrical system, the products specified have proven to work well with our other machines so would like to stay with that.

Q7. Item 6.e.i is asking for a 6-speed powershift transmission. Can we get some detailed

140P1425Q0045/0001 information as to what you are looking for? Any certain brand or model number you are considering? Our standard is Dana Spicer, Funk and Comer, but they are not ¿powershift¿ per se.

We would like to understand what you mean by this.

A7. The power shift is referring to being able to shift on the move since the machine will hydrostatically driven. Funk 2000 is what we were looking for.

Q8. Item 6.f.i is requesting a Cardan drive-type joints enclosed in a ball and socket. Can we get some specific information as to what this is?

A8. Cardan joints are built by the uni-cardan company. They have a double u-joint in a socket from the drive shaft portion to the axle on the upper end to reduce vibration and create a smoother operation with higher torque loads.

Q9. Item 7.e.ii requests Domex. It is our understanding that Domex is not available anymore and has been replaced with Strenx. Meeting the specification of 283 Brinell is not an issue. Are you ok with a different brand other than Domex that meets the Brinell?

A9. If Domex is unavailable Strenx meeting the proper hardness would be acceptable.

Q10. Item 10.j is requesting self-canceling turn signals. Is non self-cancelling acceptable?

A10. Would like to keep the self-canceling requirement.

Q11. Item 10.f.iv is requesting the beacons be synchronized using the ¿synch¿ wire function. Do you mean ¿sync¿? Also can you give us more information about the ¿wire function¿?

A11. It would be sync. This is just a module all beacons are wired to that can alternate the beacons pattern for better visibility. (i.e. not all beacons flashing at the same time)

Q12. Item 11.b is requesting a left hand drive with right hand passenger. Is a center drive left hand passenger acceptable?

A12. The right-hand drive with left hand passenger shall be the requirement.

Q13. Item 11.l.ii is requesting the rear window be in two sections. Is one section acceptable?

A13. These machines create vibrations more than most equipment, so we require a minimum of two pieces for the rear glass. Larger windows tend to crack more with the vibrations

Q14. Item 11.l.iii is requesting doors be minimum

50% glass but not more than 50% glass. Can you clarify this?

A14. Some equipment doors (i.e. road graders) have doors made mostly of glass with a metal frame. We are requiring that only 50% of the door be made of glass. Example: lower door made of metal with upper portion being glass with a metal frame.

Q15. Item 11.n.iii is requesting the passenger seat by air ride. Is a jump seat acceptable?

A15. Passenger seat shall be an air ride seat.

Q16. Item 13.g is requesting a hydraulic cold start cut out. Can you clarify this? Do you want the engine to shut down or not have the hydraulics or hydrostatics engaged? Please clarify.

A16. This allows the hydraulic system to be disengaged during cold start-ups making for easier starting with less drag on the engine.

Q17. Item 14.c.vii is requesting skid shoes. Are heavy duty rubber casters acceptable?

A17. Skid shoes shall be the required shoe, rollers will not be accepted.

Q18. Item 14.f.ii is requesting a high torque brake motor. We have found using a cylinder driven volute to be superior. Is this acceptable?

A18. A cylinder driven volute would be acceptable.

Q19. Item 14.g.i is requesting a very specific center drive gear ratio. Is a variation acceptable?

A19. The center drive ratio is specific and will be the specification.

Q20. Item 14.g.ii is requesting a second stage gearbox with specific gear ratios. We have found a rear plow gear box is not necessary. Is a variation acceptable?

A20. A second stage gear box is the specification with the specified ratio being required.

Q21. Item 14.g.iii is requesting a 1st stage gearbox. Can we get clarification about this? By

1st stage gearbox are you referring to a transmission?

A21. First stage gear box is within the chassis coming from the engine it needs to be a gear box not a transmission.

Q22. Item 14.g.v requests electric over pneumatic actuation while 14.g.vi requests automatic clutch engagement. Can you clarify? We use an allison transmission, electric over pneumatic engagement with a manual shifter. Is this acceptable?

A22. The electric over air clutch system referred to in sections 14 v & vi shall be an electric over air clutch that engages the rotary head once activated. A transmission is not acceptable as indicated in 14 g iii as they usually cannot handle the high horse power engines and torque the put out.
