About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding solicitation number 140P1323Q0086 for a VoIP telephone system for Chaco Culture National Historical Park. The key details are as follows:

The National Park Service requires an Avaya IP Office phone system with 8 analog trunk ports, the ability to support a PRI, and up to 8 analog station ports to connect devices like fax machines and phones directly to the system. A rackmount configuration and 1500VA UPS are specified. The response deadline was extended to July 25th at 5pm MDT due to delays in providing answers to questions. The park is in the process of transitioning to a PRI and the selected solution should be able to support this. Additional analog ports may be needed via an optional card. Chaco Culture NHP RFQ# 140P1323Q0086 VoIP Telephone System Questions received and their responses

The following questions were received regarding the specifications- answers follow.

Due to the delay in supplying responses the RFQ period will be extended through a RFQ amendment– new RFQ period will end on the 25th of July, 5pm MDT.

July 19th Update:

1. Please confirm the exact trunking requirements from the PSTN provider? Specifically, how many analog trunk ports are required on the new Avaya Phone System (please note that this only includes analog trunk ports that will interface directly with the IP Office and does not include dedicated POTS lines that will interface directly to alarm systems, fax machines, credit card readers, etc)?

0. There are 8 analog lines. The IP Office device supports 4 by default so add 1 analog card as an option to the solicitation.

1. The RFQ mentions the use of a PRI in the near future, does NPS want the contractor to include both analog trunk and PRI hardware in their proposal? Or will the PRI card be purchased at a later point in time?

1. Phone system should be able to support a PRI. The park is in the process of making the change to a PRI.

1. The SOW asks for a 1500VA UPS system, please confirm how much holdover time this UPS system is to provide for the new IP Office Phone System?

2. 1500VA UPS system

1. How many analog station ports are required on the IP Office to directly connect analog fax machines, analog phones, etc to the IP Office? Once a PRI is utilized, it would make sense to connect these type of devices directly to the IP Office phone system versus have them connect directly to external analog POTS lines ultimately reducing the price of external POTS lines.

3. Up to 8 analog lines.

1. Are you looking for a Rackmount or Tower configuration?

4. Rackmount configuration

Below questions 6-11 are about Question 3 and the UPS system. Quoting a 1500VA UPS System, these questions are not pertinent as it is manufactured with the set as it is.

1. Input Voltage?

1. Output Voltage?

1. Plug type?

1. Do you require Single Phase or 3-Phase solution?

1. What is the Total Power Consumption (watts) you’ll need? (One UPS per Rack?)

1. What is the runtime that you are looking for (minutes)?

1. Do you require the UPS to have a Network Interface?

Please reach out to Samuel_hyslop@nps.gov or 970-880-4482 for further questions.
