Amendment 05 Questions and Responses

1. By stating 'inside and outside the building' does this mean to include the chilled water lines all the way to FC8? (FC8 is not included in the equipment to be replaced.)

No. If this is required, a modification will be needed.

2. By stating 'with components matching existing' - can the technical POC be more specific? Does this mean all the valves, pumps, pot feeder, expansion tank, etc - as shown on 1992 drwg M9?

Yes.

3. What are the existing chilled and hot water lines? copper or steel?

Existing chilled and hot water lines are steel

4. Why are all the chilled water lines to be replaced, but not the hot water lines?

This is the government requirement.

5. Why is FCU4 a split system? Why not tie it into the main loop like FC1, FC2, F3, F5 & F6?

Due to offices being built and the need for the IT server area to be cooled differently, this was configured differently.

6. Can you please verify that the "components" replacements are not included with the boiler replacement. Red box on M10 states the boilers are to be connected to the existing flue and water lines.

The existing flue & water lines are in good shape and will not need replacement. If that is not the case, a modification will be needed.

7. The inline/secondary pumps for the boilers are included in the equipment schedule, drwg M1.4.

However, keynote 8 on drwg M1.3 states the pump motor controllers are to be replaced; and the red box on drwg M10 also states the pump motor controllers. Please clarify: are the boiler inline pumps to be replaced or just the motor controllers? And if the pumps are to be replaced, how much of the 'components' are to be replaced?

The pumps with controllers need to be replaced.
