Questions and Answers
(19) Par. 4.1.2.1 in the Scope of Work states we are to remove an existing electrical panel in the women's restroom. We did not see an existing electrical panel in the women's restroom.
See Scope of Work, there are two pictures of the existing electrical panel on the page labeled, Existing Women's Restroom.
(20) Par. 4.1.2.2 states a new electrical panel will be installed. Please clarify where it will be installed?
See Scope of Work, and atch 8 location and photos, SAJU Restrooms Proposed Plan View.
(21) Par. 4.1.2.4 appears to say we are to provide a new exterior free-standing weatherproof enclosure on a rack, not attached to the bathroom building. Is this correct? Can you provide more information, including the size, on what you a looking for? How shall it be secured if it is outside, but not attached to the building? What shall be housed in this enclosure?
Yes, See Scope of Work, panel size is dependent upon all the new electrical fixtures you will be installing in the bathrooms. See Scope of Work, and atch 8 location and photos, there is a picture of an example of an exterior free-standing rack mounted electrical panel. The new electrical panel.
(22) Par. 4.2.2.1 in the Scope of Work states we are to "replace the smaller cabinet to support a water fountain cooler in the designated area. Western red cedar. Black painted metal hardware." We are not entirely sure what is intended here. Are you looking for a wall-mounted drinking fountain? Are you looking for a self-standing drinking fountain? Are you looking for a supporting red cedar frame for a 5 gal. water jug? Please clarify what you are looking for here.
We need a new small cabinet to support the cooler for the exterior water fountain. See Scope of Work, and atch 8 location and photos, there is a picture, bottom left corner, on the page labeled, Existing Women's Restroom, that shows the cooler sitting on blocks of wood that are sitting on a small cabinet. The small cabinet is to be replaced, made of Western red cedar with black painted metal hardware, mounted higher on the wall so that it supports the cooler. No, existing exterior water fountain will remain. No, existing exterior water fountain will remain.
(23) Par. 4.2.2.2 in the Scope of Work states we are to install a new outdoor-rated garden/janitor cabinet in the restroom. Please confirm that you are looking for a free-standing, western red cedar cabinet, to be placed in another part of the women's bathroom, not in the same location as the existing wall-mounted cabinets.
Yes, a new free-standing Western red cedar cabinet. For placement see Scope of Work, attachment labeled SAJU Restrooms Proposed Plan View.
(24) Par. 4.4.2 references repairs and cleaning of the tile and grout. Please clarify if this includes the wall tile and floor tile. During the site visit, there were no readily visible problems with the wall tile, or floor tile. Please clarify the types of problems that require repairs. Grout joints are notoriously hard to clean since they are porous and readily absorb dust, dirt, and cleaning chemicals. Please clarify what type of cleaning you are expecting.
Yes, wall and floor tile. Repair and clean tile and grout. Seal any tile cracks to make them safe and to aid in prevention of any further cracking. Unless the tiles are completely missing or damaged beyond repair, no need to replace. If replacement is necessary, acquire Park approval on type and coloring of tile and grout before replacement. Intent is to have the tile and grout to be cleaned to remove years of grime that daily mopping cannot accomplish.
