About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a Request for Quote (RFQ) to replace a cardboard baler at Great Sand Dunes National Park. The RFQ number is 140P1224Q0042, and the project is titled "GRSA-CARDBOARD BALER". The current baler is undersized and at the end of its useful life, so a new baler is required to better manage the increased volume of visitor-generated cardboard waste. The SOW outlines the required specifications for the replacement baler, including features such as a redundant interlock system, key lock on/off auto cycle, emergency stop, platen raise/lower, bale made light, electrical disconnect, automatic feed-gate, oil heater, front bale tie-off system, lockable disconnect, and automatic bale ejector. The project location is at the park's Facilities Management area. A site visit is encouraged to understand the installation requirements, including proper electrical capacities. The document includes several photos showing the current baler location and the planned installation area.

1.0 Overview
The park has had a drastic rise in visitation and an increase in cardboard accumulating onsite. The current cardboard baler is undersized and has reached the end of its serviceable life. In order to better manage the handling of the cardboard, a new baler will be placed at the Facilities Maintenance area and the old baler will be removed from the Visitor Center building.
2.0 Location
The project location is at Great Sand Dunes National Park, 115000 State Hwy 150, Mosca, CO 81146. The specific locations are the Visitor Center where the old baler is located, and the Facilities Management area which is the first right off Piñon Circle. See Figure 1 for coordinates.
