a. NPS is open to any material that can handle impact and abrasion and meets all the specifications, so yes to using other materials or foam if it's durable and meets the specifications.

2. What do you mean by "Trails and Roads should be listed clearly in standard and metric?" How long in KM and miles being a label next to the trail or road?

a. The preference is to have both imperial/standard and metric on any mileages listed. Names will be added, but if there is room for mileages, then only if it's graphically pleasing.

3. Are graphic panels part of this project?

SOW-V2 on page 2 states: "The map will be designed so that reader rails can be attached to the map in a future funding project." Typically, graphic panels are attached to the model stand, not the map itself. Please clarify.

a. No, they are not part of this project.

The map should be planned so that in the future if funding becomes available that another project would be solicited to add them.

4. Do these models need to be fabricated in the

USA?

a. NPS Answer - The following clauses and provision are included in this Request for Quote https://www.acquisition.gov/browse/index/far see

FAR clause 52.225-1 Buy American - Supplies , 52.225-3 Buy American -Free Trade

Agreements-Israeli Trade Act, and 52.225-13

Restrictions on Certain Foreign Purchases and provision 52.212-3 Offeror Representation and certifications - Commercial Products and commercial Services.

5. How many months is the warranty period?

a. Warranty would be at minimum 1 year.

6. Is the new model size approximately 64" long x 17" - 23" wide?

a. It should be around the same size as the old map.

b. The plex over the old map is 5' 10" long and 2' 6" wide and 1' 1/2" tall.

7. If the model stand is 45" wide as listed on page 5 Attachment A, does that meet ADA requirements found in Attachment C? Could you please explain how page 31 in attachment C is to be interpreted.

a. For topographic models, accessibility requirements dictate an 18" reach range so that someone in a wheelchair can experience the map in a tactile fashion. So, for a map where visitors can approach from both sides, that means a maximum width of 36". The length is not really important.

8. Is the base approximately 86" long x 45" tall x 40" tall?

a. The old map base is 7'2" long, 3' 9.5" wide, and 2' 1" to overhang and another 3.5" taller with the overhang.

9. The base has storage capacity. Can this be open shelving? Or does it need locking doors with shelving inside?

a. The base should have shelving and locking doors. The base should be similar in style and color to the existing exhibits.

10. 'COMBINED SYNOPSIS' under 'price schedule' only has '3d Exhibit Map' - is the base (model stand) included in this single price or should it be a separate item or is not even part of the job?

a. The map and the base are included in the requirement and will be awarded as a firm fixed price lump sum item

11. 'COMBINED SYNOPSIS' states that prior experience of 3 examples of similar projects fabricated in the last 5 years. Will you accept proposals from companies that do not meet this requirement? Will you accept companies that have

Zero examples? f yes, does this meet National

Park Service 'Standard Exhibit Planning, Design and Fabrication Specifications' section 26.2 E which states the fabricator of the topographic model must be 'an appropriately skilled cartographer to produce the map'.

12. Please verify general model area.

a. The model needs to be close to the park boundaries with minimal buffer.

13. Can the map be made out of wood?

a. Durability would be a main concern for a map made out of wood. The map would need to meet all the specifications to be considered. See question and answer #1.
