CLEAN SEWER LINES
CURECANTI NATIONAL RECREATION AREA (CURE)
RFQ# 140P1222Q0056
AMENDMENT 0001
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
1. QUESTION: Will there be someone at the park to review the project during the actual cleaning process to approve the level of cleaning that has been done? Just checking to see that when the project is complete if there will be someone looking at the video of the lines, who then may have the authority to say that additional cleaning is required prior to signing off the work?
ANSWER: The NPS will have staff on-site during the duration of the line jetting and they will be available to review video of lines and recommend further cleaning as needed.
2. QUESTION: Due to the remote location of the project, would there be a campsite available for the crews to use during the term of the project? Anticipated duration would about 2 weeks.
ANSWER: Campsites could be available if enough notice were given. It would also depend on what the contractor’s requirements for a campsite are i.e., RV site, tent pads etc. Unfortunately, the park cannot guarantee that sites with full RV hook-ups will be available. Since the project will occur during the park’s busiest season, it is highly possible that all these sites will be reserved. In short, it is possible that a campsite could be available, but this cannot be guaranteed.
3. QUESTION: Is there fresh water available for the jet equipment or will the contractor have to go off site to procure water for the project?
ANSWER: There is fresh water on-site that could be used for jetting equipment on the condition that the contractor provide backflow prevention devices or provide an air-gap to prevent contamination of the park’s potable water system during filling of portable tanks or other jetting equipment.
