140L6426Q0026 Metal Shooting Range Questions/Answers
1. Are the hole measurements on-center for the holes? The drawings don't necessarily specify and they are not exactly to scale. Yes, all dimensions for hole placements are measured on-center. These specific hole measurements are designed to accommodate standard Grade 8 bolts.
2. Is there any finish treatment expected after the pieces are cut, or can they go straight from cut to pallet (I utilize waterjet cutting). Parts may transition directly from cut to pallet provided that all 5/8” holes are thoroughly deburred. Edge deburring is mandatory to maintain the structural integrity and longevity of the Grade 8 hardware passing through them.
3. Does the delivery location have a forklift and operator to off load the pallets? Yes, the delivery facility is fully equipped with an on-site forklift and multiple operators. The vendor must place a notification phone call ahead of delivery to ensure an operator is actively in the office and scheduled to receive the freight.
4. On the AR500 plate, we can quote AR500 and it meets the Brinell hardness, but it will not meet the tensile and yield. I just wanted to check if we should still quote this since it doesn't meet the minimum specifications? Here are the minimum specs: AR500 steel will meet the minimum specifications: 1. Brinell hardness between 470-550 2. Tensile strength minimum 175,000 psi 3. Yield strength minimum 100,000 psi. No, material that fails to meet all three metrics will not be accepted. Failing to meet the minimum tensile and yield strength requirements strictly compromises target integrity and causes accelerated target destruction. All quoted material must meet every listed parameter.
5. Are CLINs 00010 and 00020 intended to correspond to the 3/8 inch and 3/4 inch material groups, respectively, or are two complete sets of all listed quantities required? CLIN 00010 and CLIN 00020 represent mutually exclusive material groups under a single contract; duplicate or complete dual sets of all listed quantities are not required. However, you must ensure that all material quoted under both CLINs strictly complies with the mandatory AR500 mechanical specifications (Brinell hardness, tensile strength and yield strength).
6. The specifications state that performance shall not exceed 30 days from award, while the solicitation lists delivery by September 25, 2026. Which requirement controls? It is 37 days from award. 9/25/26 is a tentative date depending on the date of award.
7. Are there required tolerances for the outside dimensions, 5/8-inch hole diameters, and hole locations. Thru hole for a bolt? Yes, standard industry tolerances of +/- 0.030” apply across all outside dimensions, hole diameters and placements. These are strictly standard thru holes engineered for 5/8” Grade 8 bolts.
