About this file
This document is a federal contract amendment (Amendment 0001) for a solicitation issued by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Arizona State Office for the acquisition of 1,800 tons of aggregate base course (gravel) for the Safford Field Office. The period of performance is from 09/01/2025 to 10/01/2025, with a contract value of -160 TN. The amendment provides additional details about delivery requirements, including the need for a front-end loader onsite during delivery to consolidate and potentially move material at a designated stockpile area.
The amendment includes specific guidance for contractors regarding site access and road conditions. There are no weight limits on the road, but drivers should be aware of challenging terrain including soft shoulders, single-lane widths, blind corners, and steep grades. The solicitation recommends against truck and trailer combinations exceeding 32 feet in total length. Contractors are advised to scout the road before submitting a proposal, and to take precautions to protect improved road surfaces when bringing heavy equipment to the stockpile location via E. Bonita Creek Rd. The site is publicly accessible 24/7 throughout the year.

Additional information about the front-end loader:
The front-end loader needs to be onsite during delivery. There is a designated area for the stockpile, which is where material will initially be dumped. The front-end loader will consolidate material, and possibly move material to create two piles. The amount of time the front-end loader is on site, depends on how long the vendor expects delivery to take.

There are not any weight limits on the road, but drivers should be aware of soft to nonexistent shoulders, single lane widths, many blind corners, and sections of steep grade. We don¿t recommend truck and trailer lengths that exceed
32 ft. total. Access to the site is open to the public 24/7 all days of the year. We recommend interested contractors scout the road to inform their proposal.
The final mile to and from the stockpile location itself are a natural road surface where tracked tires would not be necessary. However, if heavy equipment is going to be driven to the stockpile location via E. Bonita Creek Rd., contractors must protect improved road surfaces.
