3. Do we need to be registered in SAMS?
Answer: Yes, all potential bidders need to be registered in SAMS and need to also be active.
This has been an issue for several contractors recently. Please make sure that you are active in the system, or your bids will not be accepted.
4. What is the budget for this project?
Answer: Please refer to the solicitation, the budget range is between $250-$500K.
5. Will the site be closed during construction?
Answer: The site will be closed during construction if there is a threat to the health and safety of workers or the public. However, the parking lot used for hiking to Calf Creek falls will remain open if there is no threat to the public. Contractor will be required to give a two week notice if a closure is necessary. This will give the BLM time to inform the public of the closure.
The Campground will remain closed during construction.

Answer: The slab is estimated to be 3”-4” thick.

Answer: No, there is no cell service at the site. The closest spot to get cell service is about 3 miles north of the site along the highway.
10. What are the pipes under the bridge?
Answer: There are 2 pipes under the bridge. One is a powerline that is attached to the underside of the bridge. The second one is an abandoned water line. The contractor will be required to reattach the powerline to the bottom of the bridge with clevis pipe hangers so that it can move with the bridge. A second option would be to remove the abandoned waterline and reuse the posts and saddles to place the power line in. See revised Sheet C504 for more information.

Answer: No, all bidders are responsible for locating and securing their own products.

Answer: All the clearing required is that which will be needed to install the tent pads. It is assumed that you will need 1-2 feet to construct the tent pads.
13. There is a discrepancy with stair step dimension per detail 7/C502. The dimension 4’11” cannot fit into a 1’-6” spacing?
Answer: The dimension in detail 7/C502 is incorrect, the step width is to be 11” vs 4’-11”.
Please refer to the revised detail 7/C502 for further clarification.
14. Dimensions given throughout the plans have squared footage by 2 which can’t be correct, on dwg C204 were 1,100 ft sq. would equal 1,210,000 ft. The squared symbol appears in most if all the majority of the plan view dimension note clouds.
Answer: The notation FT² is a common reference for the surface area in square feet in the industry. For instance, the living quarters will be 1,100 FT² in otherwards 1,100 square feet. If you are trying to calculate the volume, see note 2 on the plans that call for 2” of road base gravel over the identified areas. Such as 1,100 FT² * 2” = 183.3 FT³ or cubic feet of material.
