About this file

The document is an email chain discussing a cleanup project for three double-wide trailers at a BLM guard station in Frenchglen, Oregon. The project involves addressing rodent infestation damage, specifically replacing insulation and vapor barriers in the Southeast, Northwest, and Northeast houses. The trailers are approximately 2,000 square feet each, and the BLM anticipates keeping these structures for about 5 more years.

The email thread involves BLM staff from the Burns District, including Justin DeCroo, Joseph Ballard, and Joseph Sullivan, coordinating site access for potential vendors during fire season. The communication indicates a need for a site visit to provide accurate quotes, with the guard station being staffed and potentially able to facilitate vendor access. The project appears to be part of a formal solicitation (140L4325Q0092) for removal, cleanup, and replacement of rodent-damaged materials, with an extended quote submission deadline of 7/30/2025 at 1400 PT.

Good morning, If you are needing to set up a time to go look, I would reach out to myself and Joe Sullivan. We both work in the fuels program, but we are down many middle management positions on the suppression side, that would normally be a good contact. The guard station is staffed, so as long as they don't get busy down there with fire it should be fairly easy to set something up where they could just meet one of the engine captains on site, if that works. Or does it have to be me as the COR?

Also, sorry for the lack of information form me on this project. I am not overlay familiar with it. I was assigned as the OOR by default since we have nobody else.

Who do they contact if they want to set up a cite visit. I know it is fire season but it is hard to get a good quote without seeing it.

Hey Christy, There are some pictures down below showing some of the work that needs to be done.

There are 3 double wide trailers that need the cleaning, and I think they are close to 2000 sq ft each. I’m waiting on a message to confirm that.

And we could set up a walk through for vendor/s that need to see it first. It’ll be a little tricky to coordinate a BLM employee to get down there during fire season, but we can make it happen. We would need just a little bit of notice so we can plan.

Ok I added some Pics below of the house that is the worst and I attached the old quote. Looking to do three of the houses instead of all four of them. We are probably going to have to keep these double wides for about 5 more years looking at our funding.

SE house – Pics are below we would like to replace some of the insulation that is affected and the vapor barrier. This is the one that had a pack rat at some point and rock chucks.

NW house – Vapor barrier would need to be replaced

NE House – Vapor barrier would need to be replaced
