About this file

This is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document for the Adobe Fence federal contract opportunity. The document addresses three key inquiries from potential contractors regarding material specifications, installation methods, and licensing requirements.

The contracting officer clarified that SCH40 pipe is the mandatory material specification with no substitutions permitted, rejecting an inquiry about using 40WT pipe as an alternative. Regarding installation methodology, the officer specified that bar stock must be used to attach brace rails to posts, overriding a conflicting detail shown in the original drawing, and provided an updated drawing for proper bar stock installation. On the licensing question, the officer confirmed that a Nevada State Contractors License is not required to perform federal government contracting work in Nevada. These responses establish binding requirements for bid preparation and contract performance.

Q&A for Adobe Fence

1. I see the specs call for SCH40 pipe. Would it be ok if we used 40WT pipe? It is a lighter and stronger pipe.

SCH40 pipe is the preferred material and substitutions will not be allowed.

2. The statement of work provides specs for a bar stock to be used to connect the brace rails to the posts. However, the drawing shows rail ends being used to connect the rails to the posts. Is a bar stock or rail end the preferred fitting?

Please use the bar stock method for attaching brace rails. Attached is an updated drawing for installation of the bar stock.

3. Do we have to have a NV Contractor License to perform this work?

A Nevada State Contractors License is not required to perform contracting work for the federal government in Nevada.
