About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) amendment for BLM (Bureau of Land Management) solicitation 140L3625Q0085, covering a project for the Sundance Lodge Recreation Area Interpretive Development. The Q&A addresses potential contractor inquiries about project requirements, including research access, image resources, and partnership engagement. BLM indicates flexibility in the project approach, seeking creative solutions from the contractor for interpretive development.
Key details include BLM's willingness to provide access to their curation center library and national photo library, and their expectation that contractors will engage with tribal contacts for input on proposed signage. The agency does not prescribe a strict proposal format but requests similar project experience and past performance documentation through a provided questionnaire. Contractors are encouraged to propose their own approach to additional research, maps, illustrations, and content development, with BLM primarily seeking an innovative interpretive strategy for the recreation area.

Q&A for 140L3625Q0085 Amendment 0001
Q1: Will the BLM share access to any of their additional archives, libraries, databases, etc., should they be needed for the research of this project?
A1: BLM will provide access. BLM does have an extensive library in our curation center and a national photo library that could be helpful.
Q2: Who developed the document: A06 Sundance Lodge Recreation Area Interpretive Brief? Will they be participating in this project?
A2: The interpretive brief was developed through another project. No, they will not be participating.
Q3: What additional research would be needed?
A3: This is undetermined. BLM is looking for creative ideas from a contractor. There are some good ideas already provided in the interpretive brief.
Q4: Will BLM provide image resources for this project?
A4: BLM will provide access to anything we have, but it may be beneficial to seek out additional content.
Q5: Will there be any need for maps or custom illustration?
A5: This is up to the contractor. BLM wants to see the contractor’s creative approach.
Q6: How do you define the level of engagement with outside partners? How many meetings will be required with: staff, tribal, and NGO partners? Is this for review and or content development? Will you provide the contact information for these people?
A6: At a minimum proposed signage should be shown to tribal contacts for their input.
BLM can provide these contacts. The number of meetings can be determined after award.
The Statement of work describes some minimums under “Schedule”.
Q7: I do not see any proposal requirements such as: resumes, proposed schedule, samples of work, page count. Do you have a standard proposal outline for contractors to use?
A7: No. Similar project experience would be helpful to evaluate your experience/skills with interpretive development. Provide your past performance using the questionnaire provided in the solicitation. You may attach samples of work to the questionnaire.
