About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the requirements for installing helical anchors at the Kobayashi Beach dock for the Dillon Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Ennis, Montana. The project involves installing 4 helical anchors with a working load limit of 2,650 pounds each, proof tested to 5,300 pounds minimum, at the ends of the second and third dock sections. The dock is located in Ennis Lake, with water depths ranging from 6-9 feet, and will require anchors to be installed at a specific angle to prevent side loading.

Key requirements include providing attachment points for 3/8" Grade 30 Proof Galvanized Coil Chain, ensuring the chain attachment is 12-18 inches above the lake bed, and submitting a drawing/design of the attachment point for government approval. The contractor must supply all tools and equipment, protect the dock surface during installation, and provide spill containment for lake-based equipment. The project has a total performance window of 65 calendar days, with payment structured as a lump sum upon completion and government inspection. The contractor will be required to warranty their work for one year and must follow specific installation guidelines based on the lake bottom's geological composition of gravelly, alluvial sediments.

Ennis Lake's bottom is likely comprised of gravelly, alluvial sediments, derived from limestone, shale, and sandstone. These sediments formed in a floodplain or narrow drainage channel environment, leading to slopes ranging from 0 to 5%. The area also contains a mix of pebble to boulder-sized gravel, along with sand, silt, and clay, according to the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology. The lake bottom likely contains compacted gravel with multiple layers of clay, sand, and silt, according to the Montana
