QUESTION AND ANSWERS

Recreational Target Shooting EA Solicitation No. 140L2221Q001

1. Per Item 3.c of the SOW, the contractor will be responsible for a Class III inventory of the new disturbances in the project area. Will the BLM require a Class III inventory for all the project components described under Item I of the SOW? The BLM does not anticipate requiring a Class III inventory for all of the project components.

a. Camel Tracks The 340-acre Camel Tracks area and the associated access road is not anticipated to require a Class III survey since the areas have previously been surveyed. The BLM anticipates that these areas have not changed in a manner that would make the previous surveys inadequate.

i. 340-acre area located approximately 4.7 miles from the paved, two-lane CR 56

ii. Approximately 3.2 miles of road extending from the maintained portion of CR 56C

b. Buckman The BLM anticipates that this 34-acre location would require a Class III survey to be completed.

i. 34-acre area located approximately 4.6 miles along the gravel Old Buckman Road from Camino La Tierra

2. If a Class III inventory is not required for all the areas above, what is the approximate acreage of the areas where the BLM will require Class III inventories? 34 acres.

3. Will the BLM allow the Class I overview described in Item 3.c of the SOW to be included as part of the Previous Research section in the Class III inventory report or will the BLM require a stand-alone document for the Class I overview? A Class I overview would be prepared for both areas--Buckman and Camel Tracks--regardless of the need for Class III surveys. And, yes, the Class I overview can be included as part of the Previous Research section in the Class III inventory report.
